My last visit to Jade Pot for steamboat was a great and satisfying one. When I learned that Jade Pot serves Dim Sum daily from morning till late noon; I decided to pay a visit with my family.
I discovered another great place to go for dim sum, which is just 3 minutes drive way from my house; serving yummy dim sum and best of all, the dim sum(s) (steamed and stir fried/fried items only) are half price during weekdays lunch hours!!!
Cheers Palace - located next to Cheras Autocity; was previously known as Unique Fisherman Seafood Restaurant has now become my favourite place for lunch. Besides dim sum, there are quite a number of dishes such as various noodles, fried rice, veges, tofu, fish... on the lunch promotion menu. The good thing is, the price; the items on the menu are priced from RM 8 onwards!!!
Steamed Siew Mai (n/p: RM 6.80) - a must-order item whenever you are in any dim sum place. this restaurant serves good siew mai. The size for the siew mai(s) was big and the minced pork in it was very flavourful
Szechuan Dumpling with Prawn(n/p: RM 4.20)
Steamed Prawn Dumpling(n/p: RM 6.80)
Steamed Cheung Fun with BBQ(n/p: RM 8.80)
Pan Fried Carrot Cake with XO Sauce(n/p: RM 7.00) - love its spiciness and it was real fragrant.
Deep Fried Banana and Redbean Pancake(n/p: RM 4.80) - ohh, love the lil sweet pancake. banana and red bean - quite a surprising combination .
Deep Fried Bean Curd with Prawn Roll(n/p: RM 6.80) - huge prawns wrapped up with the fu chok. love this with mayonnaise :)
We ordered half of the Peking Duck. (RM 20 - the promotion price). The crispy duck skin is made into rolls with additional of the spring onions and special sweet sauce.
as for the duck meats, it will go with either fried rice or noodles (RM 20 - which is included in promotion item) . we opted for the noodles that came with real wok hei.

Our bill came was about RM 65 in total (inclusive of tit bits and Chinese tea priced at RM 1.50 per head; and we duplicated a few orders on dim sum selection). it was really quite a deal to have their half price dim sum (50% off) which is only available during weekdays lunch hours. The size of the dim sum(s) is huge and they are good except for the steamed cheung fun which was not that silky smooth and warm enough. Service may not be as attentive as you think but then, all the food will be on your table very promptly.
Unable to make it during weekdays? Nevermind as they are having weekends dim sum promotion too at 30% discount (from 9.30 in the morning till late noon if i am not mistaken). :)

After the days with bland notes,
The weeks with tasteless tutorials works,
The month with awful books.
Finally, i get to zing up my numb taste buds with scrumptious food with a bunch of food lovers - Chris&Christine, Jason and Simon and three other friends.
We were here, a chinese restaurant that is located at One Bangsar - House of Tang to savour a dinner together.
House of Tang emphasizes on home-cooked style goodness and practices the MSG-free motto. The food prepared is MSG-less and every ingredients are carefully selected so that every dish made will remain its freshness, delicious and healthy.
We had the Unagi Puff as out appetizer - a fusion of Japanese and Chinese in dim sum.
The outer pastry was puffy while the inner Unagi was soft and fragrant.
Braised Seafood in Scallop and Shark's Fin Soup 瑶柱海味烩鱼翅 with lots of dried scallop and shark's fin layered underneath. The broth was light and fresh with the aroma from mushrooms as well.
Assam 'Tom Yam' Garoupa Fish 亚参冬炎石斑鱼.
It would be great if they increase the sourish level for this.
Braised Pig Trotter 红烧元蹄 The glossy piggy skin lined a thick layer of collagen underneath; the meaty portion was succulent and was neither too skinny nor too fatty.
Stir Fried Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables 咸菜炒猪肚 has my vote. It was flavourful as the pork belly were braised beforehand and the it was super QQ.
Shen Jiang Homemade Bean Curd 申江自制豆腐
Smooth, silky and soft tofu.
Pigweed Simmered with Whitebait and Wolfberry 银鱼纪子灼苋菜 - a good stuff for eyes as wolfberries were added in
Fried Yee Mee wiwth Diced Prawns 虾茸干烧伊面.
Last but not least, Herbal Jelly with Water Chestnut and Ginseng Roots 参须龟苓膏炖马蹄 was intense and concentrated with ginseng roots.

She is off and i was too free that day. Happily, we grabbed her out from her office for lunch!
Crystal Jade Kitchen, sister of C-Jade Express and Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao Restaurant are quite well-known among all (I guess) but aikssss, this was my very first time stepping in to one of the Crystal Jade Group's Restaurants.
Quakeee-quakeee
Baked BBQ Pork Belly a.k.a Char Siew Sou麻香叉烧酥 (RM 7.50) with crispy pastry on the outside and tasty char siew fillings. This is not the best one i have tried but definitely something I can go for when craving for it.
Pan-Fried Rice Roll with shrimp paste 虾米酱煎肠粉 (RM 8.80) was something special. Love this CCF roll with lots of shrimp sauce.
You will never go wrong with the Stir-Fry Radish Cake with XO Sauce 极品酱炒萝卜糕 (RM 9.80) when dining in this kind of restaurant.
Fried Rice with Conpoy & Crabmeat 蟹肉瑶柱蛋白炒饭 (RM 22.80) was just normal for me as I prefer heavier taste of food. I find the taste for this too light for me.
We actually wanted to order their soy sauce chicken with rice set; sadly, the chicken was sold out at 12.30pm!!! how can this be?! Next aim: gotta be that soy sauce chicken!!!

We wanna get drifted away from the boring uni live and the never-ending workloads from the office. We wanna put all the burden, workloads and stuff at the back of the head before Monday comes. We wanna have a get together before They are flying off again. We wanna give Her a special Birthday celebration and We know, It's Time to PARTY!!!
With the great idea from Christine, invitations were out and rules and regulations were set. We were well-dressed, well-equipped with the props and the food was ready to be served. Shall We let the party to begin???
Chapter 1 # Food
Food bonded us together. Our circle can never get out from food. We custom made the party this round, specially for Sugar Bean before flying back to UK again. They missed the Malaysian food so much and didn't even have a chance to try out all in a short period of break. We decided a Malaysian food night, with food from PJ, Cheras and Seri Kembangan.
Nasi Lemak brought by Kampungboycitygal fromVillage Park Restaurant @ Damansara Utama. Nasi Lemak with fried ikan bilis, cucumber slices and egg was always best compatible with their house's sambals.
We all love the chicken a lot. It was well marinated with spices, deep fried into golden brown and served.
Prawn Mee from Lim Mee Yoke @ SS2. The broth was well flavoured but a little spicy to me.
Dim Sum brought by Tinkie from世家点心茶楼 @ Taman Maluri. look, the Dim Sum were so adorable and colourful.
Yong Tau Fu brought by Chris and Christine from the Puchong Yong Tau Fu @ Seri Kembangan. Every pieces of YTF were stuffed with thick fish paste.
Black peppered deer meat was soft and tender and rich in peppery taste.
and poached chicken
Oooooops, did i prepare anything???
