Ristretto Cafe @ Mont Kiara 10

After a night swinging with the beautiful melody at No Black Tie, I got a bit lazy and unmotivated the next day. Ohhhh, Chinese oldies are beautiful; especially when they performed them in a jazzy way.

My girl friends knocked off my laziness and dragged me over for a cuppa and a late lunch at Ristretto, Mont Kiara. Ristretto serves Peruvian dishes. The ambiance was small but cozy; suitable for a perfect afternoon tea or daily caffeine fix.

We started with something new from the menu. Papa a la huancaina persona (RM 18).
It was the boiled potatoes and egg served with the spicy sauce; the sauce came creamy and spiced and drenched all over the potatoes. But well, I would prefer the sauce to be made in a more appetizing way.

Jalea Mixta (RM 35)
It was like the seafood platter; loaded with deep fried seafood such as squids, prawns, mussels, clams and tapioca.

We were surprised with the portion, this huge plate for a person?! The chef told us, the portion is made for one pax in Peru!!!

The platter came really huge and could easily feed more than four (as starter). The batter was just right, neither too greasy nor too thick. And it was best to go with the sourish dipping sauce.

Arroz con pollo (RM 25)
Or known as the rice with chicken. I find this was kind of Asian-inspired. With deep fried chicken which was tender and juicy lying on the fluffy rice that was well-spiced and flavoured and came in a familiar sourish hint. It was very appetizing.

Of couse, the coffee here is a must to order. Cafe Latte (RM 5)

Flat White (RM 5)
All came prettily with latte art on top. The flat white was frothy, velvety smooth and milky. Not bitter too (without the help of sugar). Lovely.

We were too full to try out their desserts. Will save it for out next visit, girls & guy?! :)

Ohhh, jazzy oldies are still in my mind now. Chinese oldies are pretty, aren't they???
