Jarrod & Rawlins @ Damansara Heights

Oink oink

We love pork,

Yes we love it…

Oink oink oink…

.

On this cozy afternoon, I had a great late lunch with the fellow food lovers – Kampungboycitygal, Chris & Christine, fatboybakes and theNomadgourmand; together with Elaine, the PR from GreyTwo sat together at Jarrod & Rawlins. A big Thankie to Elaine for this lovely invitation. *^^*

We had our lunch at Damansara Heights outlet. Besides this outlet, you can always opt to have meals at other outlets which include Ampwalk, Capsquare and Desa Sri Hartamas.

Appetizer:

IMG_2465

Smoked Duck Salad (RM26) – lots of greens with red cutie tomatoes and juicy smoked duck slices tossed in their special sauce and finally garnished with fragrant crunchy pine nuts.

IMG_2473

Calamari Salad (RM18) had my attention. The springy calamari(s) prepared in a hint of spiciness are simply irresistible.

IMG_2468

Smoked Salmon & Avocado Panini (RM24) – lots of smoked salmon slices and avocado are sandwiched in between the bread. However, the bread was something that I don’t fancy as it was tad dry.

IMG_2477-1

Salami, Serrano Ham, lettuce & tomato Ciabatta - sandwiched in between are the thin slices of salami and Serrano ham. I love every bite of this. This whole is a great combination. The bread was soft and moist and well compatible with the slightly salty Salami, Serrano Ham.

IMG_2476

The above 4 are Custom-made. J&R(s) give you the freedom to customize your very own sandwiches and salad. Feel free to ask your server for the Make-Your-Own-Salad and Sandwiches menu.

IMG_2493

Roast Pork (Siew Yoke) (Priced by weight at Deli counter**) – hohoho… I had Siew Yoke in a western restaurant ^^

IMG_2484

Organic Chicken Liver Paté is made with sherry & cognac (RM19.50). Yes, you hear me, it is made with ORGANIC Chicken Liver! That was my first experience on Pate, so I have no idea what’s the difference between the organic and inorganic Pate. But once I heard it is Organic, the word ‘Healthy’ just popped up in my mind

IMG_2489

Main courses:

IMG_2497

Pork Cumberland & Dynamite Sausage is served with mashed potato & gravy (Priced by weight at Deli counter**). I love every bites of the Pork Cumberland (the lovely curled up sausage) while Dynamite sausage was the very hot and explosive one. And, it was too hot for me.

IMG_2507

Alaskan Seabass served with side salad (RM16 /100 grams**) was juicy and you can feel every mouthful was the Omega-3 fats.

IMG_2522

Serrano Ham & Bacon Pasta with Dried Chili & Olive Oil (RM32) has nothing to complain about. I love the sourish of this pasta.

IMG_2532

Hickory Baby-Back Ribs (RM12 /100 grams**) were truly our loves. The ribs were tender and well-marinated. Can I have more, please???

IMG_2515

The serving of this T-bone steak was very huge and we were not able to finish it. Sorry to tell you all that it has been removed from the menu.

.

Note: **Jarrod & Rawlins charges just RM12 for cooking service, sauce & side dish.

.Others:

IMG_2541

Assorted Cheese Platter (Select at Deli counter). We get to sample the cheese - smoked cheese and blue cheese. The pungent blue cheese had my attention. It tastes a bit sharp and salty.

IMG_2544

Last but not least, desserts!!! How can we end a meal without some sweet stuff?!

IMG_2557

Cheese & Chocolate Cake (RM14.50 /slice)
.

IMG_2553

Death by Chocolate (RM14.50 /slice)

Just Heavenly Pleasures’ cakes are available at J&R outlets!

Ko Hyang @ The Gardens

If you ever notice this place when shopping at Gardens, it is always packed with people; especially during lunch and dinner hours.

WHY??? It’s because of the GOOD FOOD that priced REASONABLY. The Price is ranging from RM 9.50 to RM 18.90 with free banchan (of 3) and a bowl of hot piping soup.

I was here with my girls – Chrisitine & Citygal after a wonderful shopping in Isetan. We ordered quite a lot and surprisingly, we finished up everything. (Ooops, that must be the post-shopping syndrome + finished up our energy) :P

IMG_2365

Bibimbap (RM 15.90), the Korean mixed rice comes with Namul (sautéed vegetables), gochujang (chili pepper paste) and a fried sunny egg. Mix and well blend all the ingredients with rice. Yum... We couldn’t resist the moist flavoured rice covered with every little of the Namul.

IMG_2370

Tteokbokki (RM 13.90) - the chewy rice cakes with spicy sauce. Remember to finish this when it is still hot. however, The tteoks hardens when they are no longer warm.

IMG_2375

Ojinguh Bokkuem (RM 16.90) – stir fried squid in spicy sauce is our favorite among all these. Stir fried with lots of onions and carrot slices to enhance the sweetness and freshness of the squid. <3

The stir fried squid comes with a bowl of rice

Kimchi Jeon (RM 9.50) was great and delicious too! The crispy edge and soft fluffy centre kimchi pancake is served best with the dipping sauce.

JJ Swiss Rolls from Ipoh

Thanks to Citygal for bringing this back from her lovely homeland weeks ago.

IMG_2341

JJ Swiss Rolls – the soft fluffy spongy cake rolled with abundant of creamy filling. The Swiss Rolls come in a variety of flavours – from normal butter cream to cream cheese filling. Priced at RM 8 to RM 15 per roll. The Swiss Roll is low in sugar, thus it is not very sweet. It is also free from preservatives and required to be refrigerated all the time. Besides that, fresh fruits and vegetables are used as part of the ingredients. This means that they max the flavours with fresh greens.

nov091

Clockwise: Coffee Walnut, Chocolate Hazelnut, Green Tea Cream Cheese and Pumpkin Cream Cheese

nov09

Personally, I Love the soft textures of Swiss Rolls but not the butter cream filling. Both Coffee Walnut and Chocolate Hazelnut are great as these are part of the best sellers. The green tea is good too. will definitely return for more J

PS: it is advisable to consume the cake within 3 days. However, Me and my family finished up the 2 rolls in one weeks time. And surprisingly, the Swiss rolls were still moist and spongy. <3

PPS: i had a great weekend in Bangkok. gonna update my BKK trip very very soon :)

Japanese Dining Yoichi 酔壱@ Bandar Puteri Puchong

That was her last day of her real holiday.
Her real life starts the next day.
She will be stepping into her real career in not more than 24 hours.
Her nervous-y and uneasy feelings couldn’t stay away from her.
There I was, appeared myself (while her darling was working)
Dragged her out for a lunch
At Yoichi 酔壱 Japanese restaurant.

IMG_2564

Cuppa of Green Tea (RM 1.50) and Complementary crunchy green peas

IMG_2582

She ordered the tempura udon (RM 18.60) came in a big serving size; A large bowl of springy udon in the hot piping soup. We love the soup!

IMG_2583

Tempura – prawns, carrots, eggplants, mushrooms…

IMG_2577

I had the wafu chicken katsu lunch set (chicken cutlet with grated radish set) (RM 15.80) that comes with the fried chicken cutlet with bread crumbs, grated radish in the dipping sauce, 2 slices of fruit, miso soup and a bowl of rich.

IMG_2576

I was quite satisfied with this set but I dislike the rice as it is not purely the Japanese fat round sticky rice.

***
let's Fingers-crossed and good luck to her!!! <3>
