Another 3 weeks+ to Vday, have you start planning where to celebrate this special occasion with your loved ones???

Thanks to the warm invitation by Nagomi Shabu-Shabu, we got to enjoy Nagomi Valentine Lover's Bento on the first day of the year. Together with my best friend and best food buddy Ai Wei, we drove over to Menara Hap Seng and met up with out fellow food bloggers friends - Lex and WeiZhi, Chris and Christine and Simon Seow.

Thanks to Nagomi Japanese Restaurant for inviting us over for the food review on their Valentine Lover's Bento, we get to enjoy an exquisite bento lunch set on the first day of the year. Priced at RM 99+ per bento, Nagomi Valentine Lover's Bento will be available from 11th of February until the 14th of February at both Nagomi Jaya 33 and Nagomi Menara Hap Seng. Each bento set includes a soba soft shell crab salada, rose sashimi, suzuki senbei, love sushi roll, king prawn with white sauce and a chocolate cheese brownie as a sweet ending.

Before our bento was served, we were served with Nagomi's potato salad as appetizer. It was a light and nice appetizer. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the fish roe garnished on the potato salad. It gave the salad an extra taste. A very good start to the meal.

Finally, the anticipated Valentine Lover's bento was served. The presentation of the bento was very lovely, visually appetizing too! I began with the rose shaped sashimi. The combination of salmon and tuna sashimi topped with tobiko was rather delicious. The sashimi was no doubt fresh and the fish roe gave an extra texture to it. Delicious.

The suzuki senbei caught my attention. The home-made seabass crispy cracker was a healthy and delicious snack to bite on. When dipped with Nagomi's special soya sauce with spicy plum radish grating, the senbei has a tinge of spiciness in it which makes it even tastier!

I am pretty sure the king prawn with white sauce caught the attention of many readers. PErsonally it was one of my favourites too. The huge frilled king prawns were grilled to perfection, tender and juicy, fragrant with the taste of white sauce, this would be one of my main reasons of recommending this valentine's bento to all.

The soba soft shell crab salada was quite an interesting combination. Salad and soba were topped with generous serving of deep fried soft shell crab. it was very delicious when eaten with Nagomi's special salad sauce. It's always nice to try something new.

The love sushi roll had a rather uncommon combination of ingredients. The heart shaped sushi roll was rolled with strawberry, avocado, cheese, crab stick and sushi rice. Surprisingly it was quite delicious, the strawberry gave the sushi a tinge of sourness which made it more appetizing. Another new found love in this restaurant.

Last but not least, we ended our wonderful lunch with a chocolate cheese brownie topped with a scope of vanilla ice-cream. A very, very sweet way to finish our lunch.

With quiet and comfortable ambiance coupled with decent Japanese food, I would recommend couples to celebrate this special occasion in Nagomi Japanese Restaurant. The serving of the Valentines bento was very generous, for small eaters, it will be advisable to share a bento set and perhaps order something else from Nagomi's a la carte menu.
