Italiannies @ The Gardens

Soft Christmas music is playing everywhere.
Sweet Christmas decorations are hanging up here and there.
Christmas decos are eyes appealing with shinny colours and bling-bling.
Everything seems to catch one’s heart.
The atmosphere starts dragging everyone to fall into this joyous season.
Some may have start lazying around (ya, that’s ME!)
Some may have start planning for a great vacation.
Some may even think this is the time for hibernating (ME again)
Because Christmas is always in winter cool days
And also the best time to hibernate. (This is only my point of view)

However, due to the economic crisis that attacking on us, the atmosphere is not as hot and merrier as past years. Well, just hope everything returns to normal and people will ‘kick’ the gloomy away and be involved in this cheery and happy season!

Me and a bunch mates had a PRE-Christmas gathering days ago. Get-together, gossip a little and full up our stomach.
(PS: not to say I want to complain or anything. But the organizer for this gathering is very teruk. haihz)

With empty and ‘roaring’ stomach, we finally ended up in Italiannies. Glad to be seated in this lovely restaurant. Food served is generous in portion and delicious.

Italiannies welcomed us with their house’s bread. And look, That’s what they meant for sharing for all dishes.

With the dipping vinegar and olive oil.

We started with beverages:-

(Clockwise) Tropic Sunshine, Strawberry Colada, Frozen Ocean and Island Breeze

(Clockwise) Il Nero Testeros, Iced Café Mocha and Café’s Oscar

Appetizers such as:-

Californian shrimp salad (RM 25.90)– seasoned grilled shrimp, mangoes, oranges, tomatoes and cream cheese with baby spinach and romaine lettuce, tossed with orange vinaigrette dressing . However, I find that there is not much shrimps in this salad but the greens are fresh!

Mussels Lombardi (RM 20.90) - one of their new items on the menu. Mussels are shimmered in white wine, olive oil, oregano, garlic and parsley. The broth is delicious where I have scooped a few spoonfuls down my stomach.

And the mains were:-

Seafood Risotto (RM 30.90) – a medley of seafood sautéed in white wine, with Arborio rice simmered in clam and chicken broth. This is something not to my liking but the chicken broth is great. The Rice is quite different than what we usually had and it is a little cheesy and filling for us. Then only I discovered that Arborio rice (Italian short-grain rice) is actually firm and creamy due to the high starch content. That was why it is heavy for us.

Chicken Parmagiana (RM 30.90) – Romano crusted chicken served with spaghetti, marinara sauce, and parmesan and mozzarella cheese. This had our attention. The chicken is tender and compatible with the marinara sauce spaghetti.

Classic Pizza (RM 30.90) - Italian chicken sausage, mushrooms, peppers, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

Classic Pizza has my vote. I fancy this a lot. The flavourful cheesilicious pizza topped with a variety of topping.

Garlic Chicken Pizza (RM 29.90) – grilled chicken with pomodoro sauce, mozzarella cheese, green & red pepper strips and roasted garlic.

We tried to save some rooms for desserts. However we couldn’t make it as the portion served were too large. There were no extra rooms for our tummy til the next revisit.

Meals with friends are always fun and exciting.
We chat,
We share,
We gossip
And we make fun of each another.
That’s what friends for!

Cheers to our friendship~

Venezia Italian Restaurant

Venezia, the Italian Restaurant which is owned by Italians is always my favourite restaurant for their pasta and pizza. This restaurant serves quite a variety of pizza from thin to thick crust; flavourful pasta and spaghetti from the creamy to cheesilicious to sourish or zest up with tomatoes puree…

In conjunction with their third anniversary, they are now introducing WeekDays Set Lunches at nett prices (included the service charges). The set lunches are available from Monday to Thursday, and the promotion is valid until December 31st. Honestly, this is really value for your money.

Set lunches are available in 3 set.
Set 1 comes with Spinach Soup, Fish Pasta in Tomato Sauce and an ice lemon tea. Priced at RM 12 only.

Set 2 comes with Soup of the Day, Pizza with Chicken, Mushrooms and Pineapple with a glass of Coca-cola. The set is priced at RM 14.

The final, Set 3 comes with Mushroom Soup, Grill Chicken Drumstick with Rosemary Lemon Sauce and a glass of ice lemon tea. Priced at RM 19.90.

My brothers and I dined in last Monday. We had Set 1 and 2.

The drinks

Soup of the Day is the Tomato Soup which taste little sourish but definitely boost up your appetite.

Spinach Soup is something I like. The bowl of Soup came with blended Spinach neither too thick nor diluted. It was just the right taste that left on your tongue after swallowing. Yum …

Fish Pasta in Tomato Sauce was great as well. With fresh fish fillets and lots of fresh tomato puree in it. Tasted lil’ sourish but Juicy!

Regular size pizza in thick crust. Full with mushrooms and pineapple.

Only these for three of us?
Of course not.
It would not be a complete meal without desserts. So, what the best desserts in Italian restaurant? It is definitely goes to TIRAMISU.

For every set lunch ordered, you can simply add on a tiramisu at just RM 4.20 nett. Hah… I had a peek on the menu; the normal price for tiramisu is RM 10.90 ehhhh.

Our lunch ended with these superb creamy and fluffy Tiramisu. I was a little too greedy for add on 2 Tiramisu as we were too full after the 2 sets. But it was a great deal and I never want to miss it out. :P

Blueberry Cheese Cupcake

This is my second time on baking the blueberry cheese cupcakes. The first time baking turned out to be unappealing, unattractive and not looking pretty. So, after experimenting, eliminating some parts and changing the ingredients’ amount in the recipe, my big cuppies turned out great, soft and fluffy with the rich cheesy aroma. Yum~

A BIG Thankie to Christine! She surprised me with her designed banner for my blog. She is so talented not only in studies but also in designing *wink*
So, here is the big blueberry cheese cupcake for you. Please claim from me when you are back in KL.

^v^

As for recipe, I will post up after compiling everything. If anyone of you wish to try it in hurry, do let me know (arghh, i am a little lazy to type... just need some times to compile).
