Do you believe that i had a ONE DAY TRIP in PENANG???
Teheee, yep, I had A DAY TRIP to PENANG!!! and Thanks to Kampungboy for offering his place to me. I got a chance to travel with Citygal by Plane. and Yay, we were to PENANG for FOOD!!!
My Boarding Pass
Cool, isn't it??? We checked-in by phone. I can even use this super 'old' mobile phone to check in. and best of all; it is handy and environmental-friendly.
With the great hospitality from MAS, we had light refreshment on plane - a cuppa of juice and packets of peanuts.
By noon, we reached the Penang International Airport; our Tour guide was standing there, greeted and waved to us.
Shall we let the food journey to begin???
Hot Spot 1 # Nasi Kandar Line Clear @ Penang Road
This is a very popular nasi kandar place in Penang.
Just look at the queue, it was extremely long. We then joined the line for our plates of Nasi Kandar.
Me and Citygal shared a plate of Nasi Kandar came with lady fingers, mutton, curry chicken and rice that loaded with kuah. We love the rice with the fragrant curry.
Hot Spot 2 # Famous Teochew Cendol @ Penang Road
You can get a bowl of rich coconut loaded cendol at Penang road. THis is best during the hot scotching day.
Priced at RM 1.70 per bowl comes with lots of fragrant pandan cendol, red bean, coconut molk and shaved ice with gula melaka. Slurrrrrrpp
Hot Spot 3 # Banana Fritters (Pisang Goreng)
this was something not to be missed. This stall is located next to the stall selling cendol.
Hot Spot 4 # Joez Coconut - The Famous Penang Coconut Jelly
We were glad to have CK Lam around (Penang famous foodie). She took us for the famous penang coconut jelly
Coconut Jelly that can quench your thirst at this hot and warm weather.
CK Lam did a very good review on their coconut jelly. Do view her post here.
Me and Citygal with the Jelly. We both heart this wobbly jelly a lot :)
Hot Spot 5 # Shopping for souvenirs
We had a chance to get some souvenirs from erm..... sorry, i have forgotten the name of this place.
Tambun Piah was good but i prefer the one from Him Heang to this.
Hot Spot 6 # Pasembur @ Padang Kota
A place with all stalls selling Pasembur. You will be shocked with the 'Pasembur-Heaven' here.
Rachel mixed a plate of Pasembur for us to be shared.
Besides that, Padang Kota is a great place for camwhoring too :)
Many Many THANKS to Wilson & Rachel for the ride to the airport early in the morning ^^
US :)
The trip was short but an enjoyable one. We had to be at Penang airport by 4 in the afternoon. We then checked-in again using the Flymas.mobi through our mobile phone. Thanks to MAS for such a lovely and meaningful day trip to Penang and the wonderful first hand experience on Flymas.mobi.
THANKSSS, *winksss*

Makan-Makan in Ipoh Day 3
Continue from Ipoh Day 1 and Ipoh Day 2....
We woke up early. The very first thing we did was to forget about the waistline and to continue with our Ipoh Makan List, we can never miss out any good food from Ipoh; and so, let the eating journey begin.......
1. Restoran Paris - Famous Hakka Noodles and Liews
This famous Hakka Noodles stall that used to operate their business at Yin Yau Kui coffee shop is now shifted to Paris Cafe. Unlike those Hakka Noodles that we have in KL, the Hakka Noodles here is served with Tauge (bean sprout) and Yeung Liews (Yong Tau Fu). however, you don't have the chance to pick up the Yeung Liews you love. They will just mix and match for you as soon as you place the number of servings you want. Do try their special dipping sauce that is made of pickled garlic and chili sauce.
Located on Jalan Sultan Iskandar, nearby the Ipoh new town police station. Right after the traffic light (on your left) as you head towards the old town.
2. Nam Chau Curry Mee
Ipoh is always famous for their curry mee. We weren't able to try out the one from Quan Fang as it was closed on Monday. Hence, we drove to Kedai Kopi Nam Chau.
We had the dried curry noodles with thick curry paste. Ipoh dried curry noodles tasted differently from KL. The curry paste was sourish to boost your appetite. Bean sprouts were great too but no no to the roast pork.
Kedai Kopi Nam Chau
54, Jalan Bandar TImah,
30000 Ipoh.
Open daily from 8am to 4pm except on Saturday.
3. Sun Yun Long Ipoh White Coffee
We can never forget Ipoh White Coffee before stepping out from this Yummy-licious town.
Ipoh White Coffee in cold and hot each and Ipoh White Coffee with Cincau.
To my surprise, they put cincau (grass jellies) into whilte coffee. This was real unique. Hmmm, shall i say it's a dessert?! However, we all preferred the white coffee from Nam Heong better.
4. Nam Heong's Egg Tart
Errrr... we loved the pastries so much and decided to da-bao home. Hence, we walked over to Nam Heong to join the queue. Sadly, only egg tarts were available on that day; No Wu Kok, No Char Siew Sou.
The queue was seriously long. It took us for about half an hour to our turn.
The egg tarts are great and yummy to be eaten as soon as they are out from the oven. It is not that good after a few hours of long journey back to KL.
5. Kek Lok Tong
Jalan-jalan after few brekkies.
6. Lung Seng Seafood Restaurant at Tanjung Tualang
Many many thanks to Citygal's parent for treating us such a splendid lunch at Lung Seng Seafood Restaurant.
Steamed Prawns with Chinese Wine & Egg White
I love this a lot as it brought out the freshness of prawns!!!
Crispy Oat Prawns
Crispy and fragrant and it was so fingers-licking good!s
and lots of Ebiko too :P
'Zui Har' Simmering Drunken Prawns
You will feel hot and get chubby pink face after taking this alcoholic but healthy soup.
Seafood Sang Mee
Fried Rice
Soft Shell Crabs was best with the dipping chili sauce.
Stir-fry Paku with Sambal Belacan
Guess what?! It was just RM 190 ++ for the 10 of us.
