When it comes to Mexican fares, Las Carrestas Mexican Restaurant will be in my list.
A place that decorated uniquely; part of the wall coated in orangey and plastered with number plates. And best of all, it is a great place for a little gathering and get-together with friends and family.
It was a farewell cum reunion cum get-together with a gang of long lost friend a.k.a primary schoolmates. We decided to come here for its pleasant atmosphere and the great portions for sharing.
During the get-together, something must not be missed - the "Las Carretas" Frozen Margarita which is great for sharing. (1/2 pitcher at a price of RM 58.50). This is the perfect 'Tiki-La-La Drink Using Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila only at Las Carretas'!
Our Starters:
Tortilla Fritas (RM 4.20)
The deep fried corn chips with salsa
Mussels in Coriander & Habanero (RM 23.90)
Black mussels lightly simmered in its own broth & flavoured with fresh coriander spiced with habaneros.
Nachos (RM 15.50)
Crisp tortilla chips gratinated with jalapenos, bell pepper relish, enchilada sauce and loads of cheese!!! very cheesilicious it was!
Mains:
Taco (RM 22.90)
2 pieces fried corn tortilla filled with minced chicken (or beef as your preference), relish, shredded lettuce, enchilada sauce and topped with cheese, guacamole and sour cream.
Quesadillas (RM 24.90)
A folded baked flour tortilla stuffed with monterey jack cheese, onions, bell peppers, jalapenos and topped with salsa, sour cream and guacamole. This is a another dish for vegetarian amigos.
Fajita (chicken - RM 28.90)
Sliced cajun flavoured chicken served on a sizzling hot skillet with sauteed onions and capsicums and complemented with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cheese and warm flour tortilla.
Another main (but i have forgotten the name)
***
Too full for desserts, we ended our get-together session with some photos-taking.
Friendship . Memory . Cheers.
They are stationed everywhere; outstation and overseas,
