Hotel Equatorial Mooncake Preview @ Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant

Few more days to 'pat yut shap ng', ba yue shi wu, 八月十五day fifteen on the eight month of the lunar calendar.

Have you start your mid autumn celebration, trying on the variety of mooncakes from each bakery; start finishing the stocked up mooncakes?!

After the Hary Raya, we will soon embed into another festive mood again. Yes! It's the Mid Autumn Festival that falls on next week!

Thanks to Feedmelah.com and Hotel Equatorial, I was invited to Hotel Equatorial Mooncake Preview to sample their latest and new mooncake flavours as well as a variety of new dishes from Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant.

The Classic: Red Bean Green Tea (RM 13.90); Mixed nuts

Pumpkin Taro; Red Yeast Sweet Potato

Espresso Chestnuts; German Black Forest

eq moonc2

Charcoal Baked Yam; Bamboo Hazelnut

New flavours are ranged from RM 17.90 to RM 18.90. My votes go to Charcoal Baked Yam with light yam taste and Bamboo Hazelnut which was low in sugar. Espresso Chestnut was perfectly blended with strong aromatic coffee flavour; German Black Forest was tad sweet to my liking. They do emphasize on a healthier version of mooncake where they actually reduce the amount of oil used in their mooncake.

Hotel Equatorial also offers the Shimmering Moonlight that resembles cute lil' Gold Ingots symbolizing wealth, abundance and prosperity under their mooncake selection. A box of 9 mini ingots costs RM 38; limited to only 20 boxes per day. Advance order is required.

And, all these mooncakes will be packed into the classy and colourful boxes according to your preferences.
