D'lish @ Mid Valley

*the same day after Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant*

While we were heading back to gardens to fetch our car, we passed by D’lish.
‘Let’s go in and have a look lor’, I ask.
‘Why not?!’ she grinned and followed behind.

Although we already had a very full lunch at Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant, we still went into D’lish to have a look. Well, just a look doesn’t mean that we have to sit down and order something.
Just one look to satisfy our desire on D’lish
And just to check out what they are having?!

Look at the desserts chiller. Aren’t these cupcakes adorable?! We couldn’t resist the sweet temptation that suddenly arose in our mind. (We are gals, there was nothing we can do to resist the sudden craving. right? you girls?!)

Double Chocolate Cupcake with Ganache and Marshmallow priced at Rm 6.50, we ordered this upon the recommendation from the staff. Well, we weren’t too sure if this was good as we were kinda afraid of some bad and extremely sweeten and too much sugary cupcakes from our previous experiences. But these cupcakes had the look. So, why not giving it a try?!

The staff then put our cupcake into the microwave and heated it up. The chocolate ganache and marshmallow melted softly and flooded the plate.

Oh my! Honestly, this was so heavenly good! I have not ever tried out such a great cupcakes before!!!
It was really rich in chocolaty
It was moist
It was not sweet at all. You hear me, not sweet at all!
It served best when it was warm. ^_^
The best cupcake I ever had!

Ps. Me gonna try out the other cupcakes of theirs. And, I will cancel off the cupcakes from my blacklist *wink*

it's Snack time...

Have you ever notice the advertisement where there are ants, hidden and shout-out of the words ‘mini’?! Finally I discovered what they are. hehehe

They are actually Munchy’s Mini, the mini crackers which now made into cute tiny bit size that come in three different flavours --- peanut butter, cream cheese and chocolate cream. Priced at Rm 1.20 (I got from Watson when they were doing promotion in Sunway Pyramid) and there are 15 mini sandwich crackers.

Personally, I love the one with cream cheese a lot. Chocolate flavor not bad too. As for peanut butter flavor, haven’t tried yet. :P

I couldn’t update my blog regularly as I am working in day and there is still another paper for me to sit for in early-mid June *faint*. Please forgive me but I will try my best to update. Hence, all these mini munchy’s would be my all time favourite tit-bits no matter in the office or revising for that paper at home. *wink*

Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant @ The Gardens

Before I keep continuing grabbing and recalling memories and write about my Langkawi trip (that’s really a tough task for me), I am ‘flying’ back to KL again. KL is really a food hub. You can actually find whatever you wish or to satisfy the sudden craving.

Well, I am sure Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant 蓬莱茶房台湾料理 isn’t new to you guys, right? However, this is still new for me. So, I had WenChing (this place is not new for her) brought me over for a lunch the other day.

We first thought it would not be crowded as it was one of the weekdays. Who knows?! We were required to ‘wait’ for a while as the waiters were tidying up the table for us.

We had the papaya milk juice 木瓜牛奶 (left) and watermelon milk juice 西瓜牛奶 (right) priced at Rm 6.80 each. It was quite refreshing but it will take up the capacity of your stomach as it is made very milky-ly.

My Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce 凉面 is priced at Rm 9.80. It was quite large in serving with shredded chicken breast, shredded cucumber and of course the loadful of sesame sauce on the cold noodles. It was delicious. The noodles were QQ but the sesame sauce was on the sweet side. Anyway, I love the cold noodles a lot.

She then had the Black pepper bean curb set 胡椒豆腐套餐 at Rm 16.80 that came along with the hot piping bean curb (tofu), a bowl of white rice with some flavourful minced meat, a set of side dishes and a soup. It was quite a great deal where you can enjoy a full and hearty lunch.

The bowl of rice with flavourful minced meat. Yum ~

Side dishes

Soup

Here ended our full dinner and we had to ‘carry’ our stomach while going on for shopping :P

Rootian Seafood Restaurant @ Langkawi Town

Day 1 - 30 Dec 08 (Night)

After the short walk at the beach, we hold tight on our schedule and paid a visit to Langkawi’s Cable Car.

The cable car ride is priced at Rm 15 for those who hold while Rm 25 for those who are not.

Up we went~

Up up up, and we finally saw the sea.

Next destination --- we headed up to the second stop where it connected to the bridge. What a magnificent structure, isn’t it?!

At the bridge

Happy family~

At the cable car centre where tickets are sold, there are some striking buildings around and there is the beautifully planned garden.

We saw Dang Wangi too. Hoho ~

We headed to the Kuah Town for dinner. After surveying, we finally settled ourselves at Rootian Seafood Restaurant.

We left the food ordering task to ah dred. Let’s see what he came up with.

Firstly we had the Seaweed Fish Ball Soup 紫菜鱼丸汤 which consisted of lots of fish balls and a handful of seaweed. That was the fish ball soup that you definitely can prepare by yourself at home.

As for vegetables, we had stir fried kai lan 清炒芥兰 which was full with wok hei. Not bad not bad.

Also tit ban tofu 铁板豆腐 which was very good and flavorful. (Sorry for the blur photos. My friends just couldn’t wait to fork their food and I had to capture photos fast).

We also had pork ribs 妈蜜骨 which tasted good, tender and juicy and the serving for each dishes were quite large.

Finally was the fish we ordered. Fresh Steamed sek ban 清蒸石斑鱼. It was very large, incredibly large. When it was served, there were the ‘oh-oh… this is so not good’ signal in our mind. It might cost us a fortune for this meal (honestly, we were lil’ tight on our budget). The fish was fresh and its meat was tender. Fresh fish was best done by simple steam with chopped spring onions, sliced ginger, soya sauce… this was really good and my friends even jilat the fish bone.

Told ya it was really not a good sign with this big fresh fish. When the bill came…

清蒸石斑鱼 Rm 90
铁板豆腐 Rm 22
紫菜鱼丸汤 Rm 30
清炒芥兰 Rm 14
妈蜜骨 Rm 40

Total Rm 210!!!

Gosh… just for the 9 of us (as one of our friends had his own packed stuff) but the food here tasted good.

It was really costly to dine in Langkawi, Anywhere in this island. This bill made our heart sore. Some even *&%^$# in their hearts. What could we do?! Next time better ask for the price before ordering the meals.

Our targets --- watching tight in next coming meals. *&^%$@*

We-have-what-you-Want

When we were on our way to a beach, I came a across a “we-have-what-you-want” small size lorry vendor. This lorry business was run by a wed-couple. The pakcik n makcik were selling a wide variety of snack such as fruits, drinks, chips and others kacang-kacang.

The most special thing was this…

That’s really clever. They have this own-built-inverted type of soft drink machine. They even use the water taps to control the flow of soft drinks. Cool isn’t it?!

Telaga Café & Restaurant @ Langkawi

I know this is an extreme delay for posting up the New Year trip (with my secondary gang), a biggie apologize to my secondary Surian gang (all 9 of them). It’s not that I don’t want to have these to be posted up but I have no extra time to compile and write on these early of the year. Coming soon, I will post up what we had, eat, fun out together during our trip. Do hope all of you all would enjoy reading my blog. ^^

Day 1 – 30 Dec 2007 (Day)

We were at the Air Asia Terminal early in the morning, waited for our flight. It has been quite some times since my last trip.

The plane flew passed Penang. Can you see the island and little cubes of building?!

We saw our destination! here we come --- Langkawi.

It took us some times to settle the transport and checked-in to hotel we booked. Food was the next thing in our mind. We had the driver, Jimmy as our leader, drove aimlessly with the aids of Langkawi map looked out for food. The streets were quiet, most of the stalls or warung were not opened for business. I guess the more activities will be on at night.

Finally, we saw a restaurant was opened. We stopped by and headed in without hesitate. It was a pleasant environment in this restaurant.

Few glasses of fruit juice, iced blended chocolate and ice blended coffee. Both iced blended were topped with whipped cream, and a scoop of chocolate ice cream and sprinkles with some rainbow sugar. Langkawi’s weather was very warm at that period. We felt refreshing after having some fruit juices or iced stuff. However, these few glasses were kinda pricey and tasted ordinary.

Chicken Fried Rice ordered by one of them. The presentation was quite nice.

White Rice with fried shallots.

Ayam Masak Kicap, the chicken cooked with soya sauce was quite a disappointing one. It was over salted. We were all starved, so not much complains from us. We just had it eaten with lots of rice.

Udang Masak Manis was the deep fried prawn cooked in sweet and sour was okay for us. But the portion was quite small.

Sotong Goreng Sambal was the squid deep fried and cooked with dried chilies. This was okay too but then again, serving was small.

Seafood Tomyam Soup (medium) priced at Rm 10 was on the salty side as well, a little sourish and not spicy enough and it was not the very authentic Thai style. We were all very hungry till we could actually eat a horse; hence we had no left over on the plates.

Overall, the food was just ordinary; portions were small and kinda pricey. Guess it is normal in this tourism island.
