We Beer-ed at Craft Brews @ Mutiara Damansara

This round, W-E-E-E, the makan gang traveled a bit further. Exploring the PJ area, for some really good stuff - BEERS and PORK! This compatible match is something i will crave for them, always. Kampungboycitygal and Simon were there earlier but W-E joined in later, after my tough hectic Saturday.

It's our 'Happy Juicing' Time!!!

From right to left

Monster Green Lagers that appears in translucent green is brewed and lagered with premium spirulina that gives the unique color and a whiff of fresh fragrance. With Spirulina!!! it's something healthy!

English Ale is for someone who likes stronger and full-bodied beer. It appears in ruby red and the flavour comes a bit complex with smoky, spicy and hop-py.

Weizen (Wheat Beer) appears in Golden and cloudy. With the fruity nose and spice flavour, you will find it light-bodied and refreshing.

IMG_3467

"In Heat" Wheat Hefeweizen is highly recommended for ladies and for those who find beers bitter.

IMG_3479

IMG_3473

Homemade Crispy Wedges (RM 12) served with honey mustard. This was what i called wedges. The fat juicy potato cuts were sprinkled with herbs and spice and deep fried into crispy golden brown. This was best to go with out beers.

***

Recently, I returned to Craft Brews for more of their beers and pork.

IMG_3644

Deep Fried Eggplant Chips (RM 12) is coated in a crispy salted egg batter. Another great thing to go with the beers.

IMG_3647

Craft Brew's Pasta was the cream-base sauce pasta with crispy bacon strips, shitake mushrooms, peppers and onions. This was deeeeeeeeeeelicious peppery pasta and the creamy base sauce was just right and not too overpowering that may give you the jelak feeling.

IMG_3654

Pork Burger (RM 26) came with 150grams patty with a slice of cheddar, sliced pineapples, pan fried egg, tomato and lettuce. There were also crispy wedges and buttered corn as side dishes. I find the pork burger was okay with the juicy pork patty on a lil salty side. However, the bread part was a disappointed one as it was on the dry side.

So, you like PORK and BEERS??? what are you waiting for???

Pho Hoa @ Tropicana City Mall

I always thought, Pho Hoa, the Vietnamese restaurant is always originated from Viet itself... Not until I was told that Pho Hoa is actually originated from America!!! Pho Hoa, serving the authentic healthy Vietnamese Food is the largest Vietnamese Restaurant Chain in North America.

IMG_3632

Thanks to Richard and Kampungboycitygal, W-E-E got a chance to sample the Viet's food from Pho Hoa.

Beverages:

IMG_3566

Vietnamese Drip Coffee with Milk (RM 5.95)

IMG_3563

Vietnamese Drip Coffee with Milk & Ice (RM 5.95)
The coffee was then poured into a glass of ice. I am seriously in love with their Viet's coffee which actually gives strong aroma and ohhhm. But opppsss, I had insomnia and I started to disturb people at late night. Anyhow, nevermind with the insomnia and I will still hop over for this good Viet's coffee.

Six Treasure (RM 7.95)

The 3-coloured Drink

Appetizers:

There are a great variety of appetizers to choose from the menu. We get to sample some from the highly recommended list; to my surprise, all of them were good and appetizing.

IMG_3574

Lemon Grass Chicken (RM 7.95 - 4 sticks per plate) was fragrant with the light aroma from the lemon grass. However, the meat was a bit dry.

IMG_3579

Fried Spring Roll with minced chicken, vegetables and yam (RM 3.25 per roll) was deep fired into golder brown. It was quite special that they'd put in yam as one of the important ingredients.

IMG_3580

Sugar Cane Prawn (RM 7.95 - 4 sticks per plate) was indeed smokey and flavourful with the sweetness from sugar cane.

IMG_3584

Summer Roll (RM 3.25 per roll) was a healthy version of roll which consists of shrimp, chicken, salad and rice Vermicelli. Never forget to pair up the roll with the special peanut sauce to add on extra flavour.

Main Courses:

The Viet Noodles are truly imported from Vietnam and are made from 100% rice flour. Each bowl of soupy noodles is come with some fresh greens - coriander leaves, bean sprouts, hot chili padi, lemongrass wedges and basil leaves.

IMG_3607

Firstly, you have to taste the original taste of the broth first before adding in all the fresh into your bowl. Next squeeze in the lime, toss in the coriander leaves, bean sprouts, hot chili padi, basil leaves and mix them up. Taste it again as it will give a different flavour. Finally, you can change the flavour by squeezing in their special sweet and spicy sauce.

sauce

Never try to play with the hot red chili sauce as it is really hot and fiery. (photo credited to Brought up 2 Share)

Pho we tried:

IMG_3590

Pho Tai, Nam (RM 13.95 for regular; RM 15.55 for large) - Noodles soup with eye round steak, flank.

IMG_3592

IMG_3594

Pho Tai, Chin Nac, Nam, Gan Sach (RM 16.95 for regular; RM 18.55 for large) is from the adventurer's choice where you have everything in it - Steak, Brisket, Flank, Tendon, Tripe Pho.

IMG_3588

I am glad that they actually have something for the non-beef-diners like me.
Pho Do Bien Chua Cay (RM 13.95 for regular; RM 15.55 for large portion) - the hot and sour seafood pho. It was kinda sourish but i love it.

IMG_3603

Look at Citygal, she was posing the REGULAR and LARGE bowl portions.

IMG_3601

Pho is not something for you??? Maybe try out their Rice Platter?!
Com Ga Buong Cha Trung Hap (RM 15.95) - the grilled chicken and egg cake.

Desserts: the heart winning one.

IMG_3615

Coconut Flam with Caramel (RM 4.25) is wobbly, light and not too sweet.

IMG_3617

Chocolate Banana Tower is the fried banana with ice cream (RM 6.95)

IMG_3620

Cendol Kem (RM 6.95) consists of cendol, red bean with coconut milk, gula Melaka and imported coconut ice cream.

IMG_3613

Cha Gio Re Kam (RM 5.95) is the net spring roll consists of Yam, Sweet Potato and Mung Bean with Vanilla Ice Cream. The net spring roll was very crispy and I myself love the Yam and Sweet Potato combination a lot.

We enjoyed the authentic Vietnamese Food that actually emphasizing on the quality of the ingredients and individual's health. I do find that the portion they serve is toooo large to be finished. Loved every bite from the starters to main courses to desserts. and must not forget to try out the aromatic drip coffee if you fancy coffee.

Gong Xi Fai Cai & Happy V day!

It is CNY lor!!!

As usual, I will be helping mum in the kitchen, baking our own home-baked CNY cookies for family and friends. And this round, I put on efforts to bake pineapple tarts.

We dislike pineapple jam that selling in packs, hence, we bought fresh pineapples and made our own fresh pineapple jam. Mum used up 2 hours ++ to do the Jam and refrigerated them. I then continued with the baking part using the pre-mixed pineapple cookies Mix (i know i am lazy...).

IMG_3718

In the end, here are some of the Pineapple Tarts I managed :)
They aren't too pretty but we love the fragrant buttery pastry and the juicy with a lil sourish homemade pineapple jam.

IMG_3713

Here are some Pineapple Tarts recipe for try-outs:

Tinkie&i

It was one of my best-ies, ting's Birthday last week

I 'wisely' spent some of my brain cells to plan something for her, specially.
I 'quietly' arranged myself to be at the mid of her party (thanks to AT for helps and arrangement).
I specially bake her something for her special big day.

IMG_3669

This is the one --- Tinkie&i
And I have TM-ed it with Tinkie&i.

IMG_3658

On the pre-birthday party, i baked too as well as experiment on Tinkie&i.
It tasted good, creamy and velvety but I still have to work hard to improve it. ><

Happy Birthday to ting, and welcome to Club-24 :P

Pizza San Francisco @ The Mines Shopping Fair

It has been quite some times after my last visit to The Mines Shopping Fair. I never really walked around except storming to the cinema up there. On my recent visit to The Mines, I had a chance to walk and shop around with her, who was looking for some working clothes. Little did i know, The Mines Shopping Fair has had a new face and new eateries are everywhere; how nice if we could get a chance to try out all of them during the lunch time.

IMG_2409

We ended up in Pizza San Francisco for some affordable Italian food.

IMG_2402

IMG_2407

Linguine Salmon (RM 17.90) was served with dill creamy sauce and lots of salmon chunks. She loved her pasta creamy. She polished her plates shinny and left with satisfaction.

IMG_2403

Fusilli Mushroom (RM 14.90) was served with a lighter creamy sauce and came with the perfect match of wild mushroom and pasta. If you wish for something not too filling, do try this out.

A Wet Thai Cafe @ Taman Yulek, Cheras

This was dunno how many N times I was here for the hot and spicy authentic Thai cuisine. I was here again with the makan kaki; to bid Sugar's farewell in last summer.

IMG_0982

IMG_0985

IMG_0993

We started with the appetizer, Miang Kam (RM 12). With fresh Cha Plu leaves, we fold it intoo cone shape and filled up ingredients like granted coconut, shallots, unpeeled lime, roasted peanuts, dried shrimps, freshly chopped ginger, onions and finally pour over a little coconut palm sytup that has premixed with Thai fish sauce onto it.

IMG_0994

IMG_1015

IMG_0991

Pork Green Curry (RM 16) was flavorful and creamy with pork strips in it.

IMG_1006

Deep Fried Kangkung (RM 8) was the girl's fave. Never forget to dip the crispy vege with the minced pork special sauce that enhance the flavour.

IMG_1002

Deep Fried Chili Seafood (RM 20) was just okay.

IMG_0995

The salted baked fish was not available on that night; we then had the frilled mackerel, the Saba (RM 30). It was smokey, burnt but fragrant with natural fresh sweetness of the fish.

IMG_0998

Never not order Tom Yam when you visit to Thai Restaurant. Seafood Tom Yum (RM 20) that was served in the coconut was hot, sourish and spicy.

IMG_1007

Thai Fried Rice (RM 7.30) served wit spicy minced pork.

Last but not least, desserts were something we craved for before ending our meal. The water chestnut with coconut milk was the best among three :)
